We're delighted to present the next in a series of posts introducing our board members and officials.
Many of you will know Bryan Olsen as the president of Fleetwood Rugby Club. He is also one of our Trustees and as we'll find out, he has a long-standing connection to Fleetwood Hospital.
Bryan was born in Hull and moved to Blackpool in 1966 to play professional rugby league for the now-defunct Blackpool Borough. In the late 70's he worked in the Middle East for a couple of years before returning to the area to live in Cleveleys with his wife Irene.
"I became a member of Fleetwood RUFC nearly 50 years ago and as a player, coach, committee member and President have established valued sporting and charity connections with the Fleetwood community through the senior, mini/junior and ladies sections of the club. Irene and I are also involved with the Cleveleys 3L's and Blackpool Ladies Sick Poor Society.
My connection with Fleetwood Hospital goes back to the mid 1980's when I was the project quantity surveyor for the ESMI unit, a specialist facility for the elderly.
I was therefore was very proud and privileged to be asked to join the Fleetwood Trust around 2 years ago and renew my association with the Hospital again.
I look forward to being of help and assistance in any way I can as we work towards our vision of a community hub and other much-needed services for the benefit of both Fleetwood and the local area."
